As soon as this wine hits the tongue it explodes with flavor. Bright Bing cherries chase red plum around the palate. A light mint and whisper of floral is mixed with the essence of summer blackberries, which carries through to the finish. The well-structured tannins are soft, yet daring, allowing the wine to either be enjoyed with big bold meals or quietly sipped on its own. This robust, silky and intensely inky-colored Cabernet Sauvignon wine is grown in the well-drained, stony and iron-rich soils of the Weir Family Vineyard along the Silverado Trail, one mile south of the famed Stags’ Leap appellation and ten yards from the Oak Knoll District, the Valley’s newest sub-appellation. The rich, spicy nose of bakers’ chocolate and black cherry compliments the brooding and spice-filled black licorice, black cherry, plum and cranberry on the palate. Aged for 19 months in small French and American oak cooperage, our Cabernet Sauvignon will flourish with bottle age. This wine is surely a treasure to keep for many years in your personal cellar.
